XML Technical Writer(CH-08-04)
Charleston, SC
Enhances the product workflow of operations, maintenance and repair of electronic equipment by preparing, revising, and editing Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) in Extensible Markup Language (XML) formats using prescribed Document Type Definitions (DTDs) or schema. Performs a variety of tasks; a wide degree of creativity and independence is expected. Candidate may also be assigned a project leadership role in below areas.
- Technical manual development in XML using prescribed DTDs, to include DITA and S1000D.
- Create/maintain style sheets, Extensible Style Sheet Language (XSLT) files and/or other Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).
- Manage a Common Source Database or Content Management System for logistical data.
- Development of Interactive Electronic Training Manuals (IETM); Level 2 or higher.
- Provide technical development of product milestones and scheduling.

- Required Skills / Experience
- 2 years of directly related experience in technical documentation of Department of Defense (DoD) electronics systems
- Must possess a XML course completion certification.
- Documented experience in creating data files in XML and applying a style sheets to produce various output formats.
- Experience in creating and managing repositories data files and logistical data.
- As a minimum, the candidate must possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, to include Word, Access, Excel and Power Point. Good oral and written communications skills required.
Travel to various locations may be required.
