Senior Technician
Location: Charleston, SC
Duties of Position
The candidate will perform a variety of electronics technician functions, to include installing, maintaining, trouble shooting, and repairing electronics/communications equipment in a shipboard environment. These activities will include test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of electronic or electro-mechanical production or prototype systems and equipment. May also include installation, troubleshooting and repair of a variety of electronics equipment, to include radio transmitters, receivers, antenna controllers and signal distribution/multiplexing equipment currently used in the Common Submarine Radio Room (CSRR).
Required Education, Training, and Qualifications:
Candidate must be a graduate of U.S. Navy technical schools equivalent to or exceeding Radioman “A” school and normally associated “C” schools for submarine Radiomen.
- A minimum of 5 years experience with submarine communications is required. Must have a minimum of 2 years general experience in the repair of CSRR communications equipment, to include the operation, troubleshooting, fault isolation and repair. Candidate should also be familiar with the operation and maintenance of the AN/BRC-7 Baseband Switch (BBS), BBS UPS and AN/UYK-108A Submarine Message Buffer (SMB).
- Candidate must be able to work from blueprints, drawings, technical manuals, Military/DOD and commercial specifications and to analyze, locate and repair problems in electronics systems and equipment using a variety of electronics technician's hand tools and industry-standard general purpose electronic testing instruments.

- Candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience with the CSRR and/or the Trident Submarine IP Radio Room is a plus.
