Electronics Technician
Location: Charleston, SC
Duties of Position:
Candidate will survey equipment and understand workflow processes to develop and update Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) in order to enhance the production workflow, maintenance and repair of hardware equipment. Candidate will develop technical manuals in Extensible Markup Language (XML) using prescribed Document Type Definitions (DTD) and Simplified English standard. Candidate will be expected to demonstrate creativity and work independently while employing previous technical writing experience. Candidate will also be responsible for editing and performing quality assurance reviews on a diverse range of technical manuals.
Required Education, Training, and Qualifications:
An Associates Degree or higher. Minimum of 5 years directly-related experience in developing technical documentation for Department of Defense (DoD) agencies.
Preferred:
• Experience in developing documentation in XML
• Experience using Arbortext Editor or other XML development software
• Familiarity with SPAWAR approved DTDs and schemas, as well as DITA and S1000D
• Ability to create/maintain style sheets and Extensible Style Sheet Language (XSLT) 2.0 files
• Ability to manage a Common Source Database or Content Management System for logistical data.
• Experience with database entry and query
Remarks:
Good oral and written communication skills required. As a minimum, the candidate must possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, to include Word, Access, Excel and Power Point.
Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
