Logistics Support Technician for PG-12 Combat Camera

Location: Quantico, VA

Description of Project:

The Logistics Support Technician will be responsible for providing life cycle logistics support for Combat Camera (COMCAM) Tactical Imagery Processing Systems (TIPS) to ensure system and equipment availability. This individual should have sufficient work experience in coordinating a comprehensive Project Level logistics effort to ensure Marine Operating Forces’ logistics requirements are met. This individual will track COMCAM assets in the MARFORs, conducting detailed logistics and cost analyses to support the PG-12 COMCAM office’s ability to make informed decisions.

The Logistics Support Technician must be capable of supporting the development of logistics related documentation in a spiral development program. This documentation will include: (1) systematically identifying and assessing logistics alternatives (particularly for commercial and Non-Developmental Items (NDI) products), (2) analyzing and resolving logistics deficiencies with fielded equipment, and (3) managing logistics throughout the system’s development and initial deployment cycles.

The Logistics Support Technician will be responsible to performing system training, sub-system level Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) to highlight trade space recommendations, managing and tracking system deliveries, and providing OPFOR support. This includes requirements for logistics assessments of commercial product solutions, validation of supportability impacts, test strategy definition, and assisting with the implementation of a comprehensive supportability strategy.

The Logistics Support Technician will be responsible for vetting AoAs and program strategies through IPTs and other forums to ensure suitability for use (e.g., safety, environmental), and to ensure the quality of supporting logistics documentation. The individual is responsible for supporting these program efforts with expert knowledge of USMC concepts of employment and with applied logistics expertise to exploit commercial product capabilities utilizing all facets of technical assessment, program management, and support planning.

The Logistics Support Technician will also prepare program support documentation ensuring logistics readiness for critical test events, demonstrations, and acquisition milestones; interfacing with Marine Corps operational and logistics units; and providing high-fidelity recommendations to project staff pertinent to mission effectiveness and course of action (COA) selection.
