South Carolina Operations completes Wideband Networking Waveform
September 1, 2009
Centurum, South Carolina Operations recently completed design and integration of a Wideband Networking Waveform (WNW) 30 node test solution for the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) Systems Center, Atlantic (SSC-A) RF Communications and Test Division. The purpose of the SSC-A initiative is to demonstrate the scalability of the WNW and its routing protocols in a series of scenarios of graduating complexity for single and multiple configuration for up to 30 field mobile and static nodes.
The Centurum design and integration solution included 30 trailers and cargo vans (nodes) that included equipment, mobile work stations, antennas, habitability, and independent power sources. Centurum provided operators to man several of the vans/nodes during the May/June 2009 test scenarios, which included deploying and tracking the vans/nodes throughout the North Charleston, SC area. The final test results provided conclusive proof of the radios’ ability to operate in this configuration.
At the conclusion of the test, Centurum’s own Barbeque Chef, Jamin Ward, prepared a delicious Charleston style picnic spread for more than 200 members of the WNW Government/contractor team.
