CENTURUM ANNOUNCES MERGER OF THREE AFFILIATE COMPANIES
TDS, Klein & Stump, and TECHPLAN Corporation Unite Under
the Brand Name Centurum to Better Service their Customer – the
U.S. Government
ARLINGTON, Va., - October 25, 2004 – TDS Incorporated,
Klein & Stump Incorporated, and TECHPLAN Corporation, formally
affiliated companies, today announced they have merged under
one umbrella company, now operating with the new brand name,
Centurum. The unification of the three government contractors
also includes an integration of the existing entities and an
organizational realignment with the promotions of Jerry D.
Stump to president, and Samuel R. Seymour to senior vice president
of Centurum. Robert M. Matteucci will remain chairman and chief
executive officer of Centurum.
TECHPLAN founded in 1969, and TDS founded in 1974, specialize
in network engineering and integration services supporting
mission critical systems such as the joint war fighters worldwide,
as well as program management expertise. The company acquired
Klein & Stump in 1993, which added specialized technical
capabilities supporting the intelligence community, as well
as expertise in knowledge management. Although the companies
have been affiliated since 1993, the launch of Centurum now
fully integrates the company under one management team in order
to provide a broader range of products and services and manage
rapid growth.
From maintaining IT systems on warships to cryptologic and
intelligence services, the companies forming Centurum have
been supporting mission-critical technologies to the Department
of Defense (DoD) and Federal Government for the past 35 years.
Centurum has six key IT areas of expertise – Network
Engineering, Systems Integration, Business Process Management,
Information Operations & Analysis, Systems Engineering
and Design, and Operational Support.
“We’ve made an incredible investment and imperative
change for the company and our federal customers through the
launch of Centurum,” said Bob Matteucci, chairman and
chief executive officer of Centurum. “We’ve created
a brand name that truly reflects what we have in mind for Centurum:
three formerly affiliated companies centered on IT with rich
histories as unique, trusted government IT contractors, merging
at the center, to offer deeper expertise and an integration
of complimentary products and services.”
Centurum is now large enough to deliver a broad range of mission-critical
services – the entire lifecycle of IT services – which
the government relies on, yet still lean enough to have the
ability to be nimble and responsive, with a management team
close to customers. In addition, Centurum is committed 100
percent to servicing the government market, rather than diluting
its offerings into commercial venues.
