DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The candidate will use rough sketches or preliminary drawings to develop and modify shipboard and shore-based installation drawings, including: electrical/electronic drawings, arrangements, elevations, mounting and assembly details and piping diagrams. Candidate must be able to work from blueprints, drawings, technical manuals, military/DoD and commercial specifications. Candidate should demonstrate familiarity with military specifications, standards, and/or designations. Must be able to work effectively as a member of a drafting team to complete large projects.
REQUIRED SKILLS/YEARS OF EXPERIENCE Four to six years’ experience as a drafter preparing technical drawings. Knowledge of the following drawings: installation requirements drawing (IRD), installation design plan (IDP), ship installation drawing (SID) and installation control drawing (ICD) in support of equipment installations on naval ships and shore stations is required.
This position requires a Secret US DoD security clearance.
PREFERRED SKILLS AutoCad Certificate of Completion. A working knowledge of electronics Engineering Drawings, Technical Publications and Manuals, and the Shore Installation Process Handbook (SIPH).
