The candidate’s main supporting function is to provide expert knowledge and understanding of infrastructure design and sustainment with particular focuses in network design, cybersecurity, and system administration. Network engineering is in support of GCSS-MC (Global Combat Support Systems Marine Corps.) Working with the Program Management office supporting requirements.
•Strong verbal and written communication skills. • US citizen and possess a DoD Secret clearance •DoD 8570.1-M IAM I requirements (Security+) •Experience with military network automated information systems and information technology specific to MCOG. •Experience in performing network troubleshooting and analysis •Familiarity with the Marine Corps Cyber Operations Group (MCCOG) •Demonstrate an understanding of the OSI and TCP/IP models and be familiar with common protocols and services used at each layer in those models. •Demonstrate the ability to design a network with high levels of reliability and availability at a high level of security. Be familiar with products developed by various networking vendors, including Cisco, Juniper, Oracle, and BIG-IP. •Experience with system administration on both Linux and Windows environments. •Experience evaluating systems utilizing the NIST SP 800-53
This position requires a Secret US DoD security clearance.
•Preferred certifications: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or higher, or equivalent; Juniper, Oracle
